License Monitor (Customer Service I)

The Johnson County Planning, Housing, and Community Development Department is hiring a License Monitor (Customer Service I). The first review of applications will be on January 25, 2022. The License Monitormay perform thefollowing tasks:
- Answers phones, refers calls and customers; greets customers and gives information in response to phone, email, or in-person inquiries.
- Creates and maintains files both public and confidential including the maintaining of files and monitoring of licensing companies to ensure that each qualifying individual's license requirements are current; distributes reports and performs data entry into systems; types form letter, labels, mail merges, and correspondence; proofreads information; schedules appointment, meetings, and other functions.
- Assists customers with completing routine forms when appropriate such as forms for the certification, application, and company documentationprocesses; collects forms and supporting documents, reviews for accuracy and completeness; copies, collates, and routes forms to appropriate locations or staff.
- Calculates and collects fees for payment; resolves a variety of basic customer complaints, problems, and billing disputes; completes preliminary audit of cash and checks collected.
A High school diploma or equivalent is required.
One year of customer service experience is preferred.
Experience can substitute for education. Education can substitute for experience.
