We are currently looking for a hard-working Customer Service Specialist (CSS) with a passion for helping others to become part of our Northern Regional Center (NRC) team. This position will support all Wake County programs and departments and offers the unique opportunity to work with and learn about several programs and sections of Health and Human Services and local government. In your new role, you will assist clients that walk into the NRC for all programs or service needs, gather intake or service request information, handle incoming telephone calls as we are our own call center, register customers for services, schedule appointments, and service calls, and triage as needed. About Our Team

Wake County Health and Human Services (WCHHS) is the consolidation of programs and services that include social services, public health, job search assistance, child support, and transportation. The Basics (Required Education and Experience)

  • High school diploma or GED
  • One year of job-related experience (i.e. customer service, medical records, medical office)
  • Equivalent education and experience are accepted

Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience)

  • Strong customer service skills and experience acting as the first point of contact in a fast-paced environment
  • Customer service or administrative assistant experience working in a public health or social services setting
  • Experience working in a medical and/or banking setting
  • Experience with Human Services Programs: NCFast, OnBase, NCIR, Athena, WIC, SharePoint and Medical Records
  • Spanish language skills

Hiring Range: $19.64 - $21.60
