Position Summary

The Customer Service Coordinator is responsible for receptionist and administrative support duties in the Office of Admissions & Outreach. Critical responsibilities include providing front line reception and customer service, managing the office's email account, greeting campus visitors, answering phones, assisting with office operations management, handling calendars, and performing any other administrative duties required. They are responsible for opening the front office and maintaining office advising drop-in schedule. They must be able to work independently to ensure the effective operation of the front desk in the Office of Admissions & Outreach.

FLSA: Non-Exempt (eligible for overtime)

Anticipated Hiring Range: $3,505 per month

CSU Classification Salary Range: $ 3,505 - $ 5,508 per month

Minimum Qualifications

Entry to this classification requires a fully functional knowledge of and skill in standard office procedures and practices, as well as an ability to understand and operate in a variety of organizational structures. Additionally, incumbents are expected to have a thorough knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation and be able to clearly communicate orally and in writing. Some positions may require a knowledge of business mathematics beyond basic arithmetic. The ability to use and quickly learn new office support technology systems and software packages is also a prerequisite.

These entry qualifications would normally be obtained through a high school program, technical/vocational program, or their equivalents combined with several years of related office work experience.

Experience
Experience in clerical and administrative support functions for academic and/or special programs Experience providing a broad range of customer service Experience in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook, and Customer Relations Management Experience in many different administrative duties, office procedures, and secretarial duties
Skills/Ability
Excellent written and oral communication skills, effective listening skills, strong detail orientation, and organizational skills Ability to use judgment and discretion to act when precedents do not exist Ability to troubleshoot most office administration problems and respond to all inquiries and requests related to work area Ability to perform standard business math, and make simple projections requiring some inference, including tracking and comparing data Ability to effectively handle a broader range of interpersonal contacts, including those at a higher level and those sensitive in nature Ability to use general office equipment and a full range of office support technology and systems Ability to independently handle multiple work unit priorities and projects Commitment to maintaining a welcoming and inclusive work environment with diverse colleagues and constituents including faculty, students, staff, and members of the community.

Experience working in an institution of higher education Working knowledge of Customer Relations Management system (i.e. Hobson) Knowledge of Common Management System (CMS) or comparable student information system Experience with University admissions procedures, student services, academic programs, and procedures for enrollment into a degree program
